⭐ Pack the Orange County Legislature Meeting on 2/5
February 5, 2026 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
RSVP HERE
Come pack the public comment session at the Orange County Legislature meeting to support a resolution to OPPOSE the construction of new ICE facilities, including the detention facility being proposed in Chester!
For far too long, ICE has terrorized communities across the US — including here in Orange County. From the the county jail's detainment of immigrants on behalf of ICE, to the proposed detention center in Chester, Orange County residents had enough. ICE's ongoing brutalization of immigrants and protestors in Minneapolis has only made it more apparent that the agency has no chance of reform. Immigrants are welcome in Orange County; ICE is not.
Bring signs! Public comment begins at 5:30, but we recommend showing up early if you can.

⭐The Personal and the Political: Queer Stories and Panel Discussion
February 15, 2026 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
RSVP HERE!
For many of us, queerness is about community, and stories are an intensely important part of creating solidarity and strengthening that community. Join MHVDSA for a unique afternoon of queer personal narratives and robust discussion about the intersections of queerness and socialism.
Every queer person and every socialist has an "origin story" or "deep lore" about their personal journey. Hear from our queer socialists about their own queer journeys, "coming out" as socialists, and more. Then engage with a robust panel discussion with queer organizers and allies.
Afterwards, we'll continue sharing stories at an informal social, also at Boughton Place (from about 4-5 pm).
Queer people, socialists, and allies are all invited. Bring your stories, your hopes, and all you are!

Tax the Rich: Albany Takeover
If an event has a ⭐ in front of its name, that means it is a good fit for first-timers!
Tax the Rich: Albany Takeover
February 25, 2026
RSVP here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/tax-the-rich-albany-takeover/
On February 25, we're getting on the bus to Albany. We need you with us.
Working New Yorkers are being stretched to the breaking point while billionaires get even richer. Rent keeps rising. Childcare costs more than college. Groceries and utilities eat up paychecks. We have like three buses.
This crisis isn’t inevitable. It’s the result of political choices.
That’s why, together with a coalition of partners, we’re bringing thousands of New Yorkers to Albany for a march and rally to demand a New York we can actually afford. We’re calling on state leaders to tax the rich and invest in the public goods working families need and deserve, including universal childcare, permanently affordable housing, and filling the cuts to social programs imposed by the Trump administration.
We’re coordinating transportation leaving the MHV around 7 am and returning in the evening. More details about the day and transportation will be shared closer to February 25.
For now, we need to know who’s ready to show up. Please RSVP only if you truly intend to come, so we can plan transportation and make this moment as powerful as possible.
This is our moment to show Albany the power of working people, and to demand that the richest New Yorkers finally pay what they owe so we can fund a New York we can afford. You won’t want to miss it.
Thanks to our partners helping plan this day of action: NYC-DSA, UAW-9A, New Yorkers United for Child Care, PSC-CUNY, Alliance for Quality Education, Invest in Our New York, Strong Economy for All, Jewish Voice for Peace NYC, For the Many, JFREJ, NY Working Families Party, Citizen Action of NY.
