Orange County residents are coming together to say ICE OUT and to demand that our elected representatives use every tool available to them to Cut Off Concentration Camps in Orange County! 

All over the U.S., towns, cities and counties are taking extraordinary measures to refuse accomodating ICE's concentration camps. Local governments are refusing to provide road, water, and sewer services to these facilities. They are preparing litigation and requiring enhanced disclosures and inspections. They are taking the initiative, they are being creative and courageous, and they are not giving up. 

Join your neighbors at the Orange County Legislature's August 6 meeting to tell the legislature that you don't want ICE anywhere in Orange County - not in Chester, not in the Town of Newburgh, not anywhere! And let's demand that our representatives do everything in their power to keep ICE OUT.

The City of Newburgh Police Department has deployed FLOCK AI-powered ALPRs and are tracking your every movement throughout the city.

Automated license plate readers (ALPRs) are high-speed, computer-controlled camera systems that are typically mounted on street poles, streetlights, highway overpasses, mobile trailers, or attached to police squad cars. ALPRs automatically capture all license plate numbers that come into view, along with the location, date, and time. The data, which includes photographs of the vehicle, bumper stickers, and sometimes its driver and passengers, is then uploaded to a central server as searchable data. FLOCK is the largest vendor of these products.

ALPR technology can be used to target drivers who visit sensitive places such as health centers, immigration clinics, gun shops, union halls, protests, or centers of religious worship.

Join your neighbors and guest speakers for a discussion on Flock, ALPRs, civil liberties, and how Newburgh can join the growing number of cities that are saying FLOCK NO to mass surveillance.

In July, we rallied and gave public comment to call on the Town of Newburgh Board to keep ICE OUT of our community. Now we need the Board to go further than just stating that they oppose a concentration camp - they need to take action! Join your neighbors to ask the Town Board to adopt legislation that will

• Prohibit modifying local infrastructure capacity (including roadways, sewage systems, or water distribution systems) for the construction, development, or operation of an immigration detention facility; and
• Implement required public disclosures before considering issuing a permit for an immigrant detention facility on private property, such as the ratio of medical staff to prisoners and the track record of any service providers who will be contracted for the facility. This would be in addition to the new requirements of a 180-day public comment period and two public hearings now required by New York law.

By enacting a denial of services, the Town of Newburgh can refuse to accommodate ICE as they seek more places to lock up our neighbors. Without modifications to roads, permits to add large amounts of wastewater to what had been merchandise warehouses, and additional supply of potable water, ICE's expansion can be blocked or delayed.

No experience necessary! We will train you and you will only be calling DSA members!
