The Ulster County Legislature is contemplating a good cause eviction bill. This bill would increase tenant protections and would bar landlords from evicting tenants without cause. Under good cause tenants would have the right to renew their lease and landlords could not hike rents by large amounts as a tactic to evict tenants. The County’s top priority should be to create a strong, stable community not protect landlord profits! Please call in and make public comments and tell the legislature you support this bill.
